Gull on a Post

It is what it is.  A seagull, taking a break on a post.  What else is there to say about it?  Well, there’s the classic reflection of everything off the water.  That’s cool too.  You will also notice a boat on the horizon at the very left of the image which bears a striking resemblance to a certain boat that was featured in a previous post.  Yes folks, that’s right.  This photograph came from the same roll of expired ISO 400 film that I’ve mentioned before.  This brings me to a point that I’d like to make:  even expired film can make beautiful photographs.  Just give it a chance to do something magical with itself.

I think the seagull made this photograph.  Firstly, it’s looking directly to the left of the photograph.  It makes the viewer want to look towards what the bird is seeing.  What you then see are clouds.  Are they storm clouds? Is the gull waiting for the storm to come?  Or is it rain that had just passed?  It’s really all a matter of perspective, isn’t it?

Notes:
Taken with Canon EOS 650.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II.
Expired ISO 400 film.
