Preventive Maintenance

Yesterday, I passed by an escalator that was down for maintenance. What struck me most about it is that the colours of the barrier that the maintenance crew set up were bright and easily visible. I wanted to showcase those colours.

It was late in the afternoon so the work crew had gone off work so app that was really left was the escalators and the barriers that prevented people from walking onto it. I decided that there wasn’t really any danger in walking up close to the barrier and taking a shot so I took it.

I had to do some minor cropping because there were some elements in the angle I chose that I simply could not avoid. I did, however, leave a bit of the concrete in to emphasize the contrast between the barrier and its surroundings. After all, a sign like this is meant to contrast strongly with it’s surroundings. Otherwise it would defeat the purpose.
