Weekly Photo Challenge: Lines

Another week, another challenge from our dearly beloved folks at the Daily Post.  This week’s theme is Lines.  Majority of the posts I had been publishing in the past week have been dominated by strong compositional lines and any of those photographs would have fit the bill for this week’s challenge but that would be cheating since I already posted those photographs.  So I thought to myself what photograph would generate lines.

Fireworks.  The paths of the fireworks created lines.  Mathematically speaking, those lines form a parabolic curve, and not a straight line.  Thankfully, though, we’re not strictly following the rules governed by mathematics.  A streak of light drawn on the night sky can be called a line.  In this case, we have multiple lines.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy this photograph as much as I had fun taking it.

Taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 USM III at 75mm.
Shutter Speed: 8.0s.
Aperture: f/11.0
ISO 100.
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CS4.
