Resorts and Their Doodads

I find them quite amusing.  There’s all sorts of design elements that make it seem closer to nature than it really is.  Admittedly, the resort where this photograph was taken is located in a fairly rural, yet quickly developing part of the Philippines.  The point is that this sort of hut thing is meant for tourists to tread upon when they are just simply having a good time at the resort.

I personally found it to be quite ornate, placed basically in the middle of the resort’s pool.  Maybe it’s sort of for kids who want to play pirates or something like that.  I know I would given the rope bridges and the wooden structure.  I would pretend that I was some sort of pirate on the hunt for gold or whatever it is that pirates like to bury in remote islands.  Something like that.
