Dew Drops

At first, when I took this photograph, I didn’t notice the dew drops on the flower.  I was simply amazed at its lovely red, orange, and yellow hue colour palette.  Those colours are what make me really want to take a photograph of something.  This is probably why I love taking photographs during the sunset.  The colour of the sky takes on this lovely shade of orange and everything glows to reflect that shade.

At any rate, this photograph was taken roughly in the middle of the day with an overcast sky.  I prefer taking photographs of flowers in that kind of sunlight because there won’t be any shadows that take away from the beauty of the flower itself.  Not only that, taking photographs of flowers right after the rain includes all the beautiful dew drops clinging on to the petals and that adds another dynamic to the image.

Taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.

  1. Just spent the summer in Alaska and miss the color of the untamed land already. Very cool photo.
