Christmas Season

Christmas season has officially begun for me.  Today, I went to our storage closet and dug out, from the furthest corner, our Christmas decorations.  We hanged the ornaments, arranged the figurines, and decorated our home in preparation for this coming Christmas.

This sort of reminded me of some photographs I took with a star filter.  What you see below is the effect that a star filter will have on point sources of light such as the lights on a Christmas tree.  This was taken years ago.  I really should take some photographs of our decorations soon so I can share more.

Notes:
Taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 USM III at 90mm.
Shutter Speed: 1/20s.
Aperture: f/4.0.
ISO 800.
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CS4.
