It’s Supposed to Look Like a Book

To be more precise, it’s supposed to look like a book that’s been opened and placed on the ground with its spine up.  It should, then, be immediately apparent that this building is a library.  It’s one of many libraries at the local university and it’s quite massive because it’s also sort of like an ice berg:  the vast majority of it lies beneath the surface.  In this case, a lot of the library is in the basement levels.

This photograph was sort of a dive into HDR.  Since there was a lot of contrast between the lights and the furniture inside the building, I decided HDR would do the trick.  I also thought that black and white would feature the building itself with its strong lines and architecture.

Taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 at 18mm.
Multiple Frames at Varying Shutter Speeds
ISO 100.
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
