To be more precise, it’s supposed to look like a book that’s been opened and placed on the ground with its spine up. It should, then, be immediately apparent that this building is a library. It’s one of many libraries at the local university and it’s quite massive because it’s also sort of like an ice berg: the vast majority of it lies beneath the surface. In this case, a lot of the library is in the basement levels.
This photograph was sort of a dive into HDR. Since there was a lot of contrast between the lights and the furniture inside the building, I decided HDR would do the trick. I also thought that black and white would feature the building itself with its strong lines and architecture.
